ASOPLEX is a complex sulfonated material based on inorganic aluminum compounds, developed as a sealing and plugging complex for drilling and well service fluids.
The product provides mechanical sealing and plugging of pores, channels and microfractures in the rock, reduces formation permeability and promotes wellbore stabilization, particularly in the presence of reactive shales
Physical Properties and Chemical Composition
Complex sulfonated material based on inorganic aluminum compounds
Parameter ;Value
Appearance; Black powder
Solubility in water ;Partially soluble
High-performance sealing and plugging complex for pores and microfractures, which simultaneously stabilizes reactive shales and forms an elastic impermeable film in combination with ELASTOKOR
-1-
Highly efficient as a sealing agent in systems with pH < 10
-2-
Penetrates microfractures and reduces formation permeability, lowering filtration and lost circulation
-3-
Stabilizes reactive shales through its inhibitive component, improving wellbore wall stability
-4-
Forms an elastic impermeable film when used together with ELASTOKOR, improving sealing and retention of the bridging agents
-5-
In combination with carbonate bridging agents, effectively plugs the pore structure and fractures
-6-
Environmentally safe and non-toxic, which is important for operations in sensitive regions and under strict environmental requirements
Application and Dosage Recommendations
Recommended loadings of ASOPLEX as a sealing and plugging material are 10–20 kg/m³, depending on formation geology, the nature of washouts/vugs and the mechanical bridging agents used
The best effect is achieved when ASOPLEX is used together with ELASTOKOR and calcium carbonate, which forms a combined system for plugging pores, microfractures and larger channels
Packaging and Storage Conditions
ASOPLEX is supplied in 25 kg bags and in flexible bulk containers (big bags). Store in dry, warm rooms away from moisture and heating appliances, preventing wetting and mechanical damage to the packaging
Safety Requirements
Personal protective equipment must be used when handling ASOPLEX: protective gloves, safety glasses and, if necessary, filtering respirators. Read the product Safety Data Sheet before use and follow its requirements for safe handling, storage and disposal
