NRG DRILL BEADS Mechanical Friction Reducer for Drilling Fluids

NRG DRILL BEADS Mechanical Friction Reducer for Drilling Fluids

Product description

NRG DRILL BEADS are perfectly spherical polymer beads designed to mechanically reduce drillstring friction while drilling.
The product reduces torque and equipment wear, lowers the risk of differential sticking and is compatible with most types of drilling fluids

Physical Properties and Chemical Composition

Mechanical friction reducer based on perfectly spherical copolymer beads

Benefits

  • -1-
Effectively reduces friction of the drillstring and steerable tools
  • -2-
Minimizes wear of drill pipe and surface equipment
  • -3-
Reduces torque and helps prevent overpulls (tight spots) while drilling
  • -4-
Compatible with water-based and synthetic-based drilling fluids
  • -5-
Reduces the risk of differential sticking by lowering contact forces
  • -6-
Non-abrasive; does not damage equipment or circulation system components

Application and Dosage Recommendations

  • NRG DRILL BEADS are effective at concentrations of 5 to 15 kg/m³ of drilling fluid, depending on the required rheological and friction characteristics of the system
  • After the initial treatment, the product generally requires periodic top-up treatments to compensate for losses to the formation (filter cake) and at the solids-control equipment.
  • It is recommended to select the optimum concentration based on laboratory friction and torque tests, and to monitor the bead content in the circulation system taking into account the efficiency of the solids-control equipment

Packaging and Storage Conditions

NRG DRILL BEADS are supplied in multi-layer moisture-proof bags of 22.68 kg (50 lb) on pallets. Store in dry rooms protected from precipitation, avoiding mechanical damage to the packaging and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight

Q&A from Oil Energy Experts

NRG DRILL BEADS are a mechanical friction reducer based on perfectly spherical copolymer beads, added to the drilling fluid to reduce drillstring friction. The product reduces torque, lowers equipment wear and helps prevent overpulls and differential sticking, particularly in deviated and horizontal sections of the wellbore
